WHAT’S NEW WITH OUR COOKIE BUTTONS?
Our Cookie Buttons are back in better shape (literally) than ever! From recipe improvements, to brand new reduced plastic recyclable packaging. Our snacks are ready to be distributed far and wide so IBS and food allergy sufferers, and even those who fancy healthier choice tasty snacks can snap up these goodies.
WHY DID WE UPGRADE OUR SNACKS?
You told us about the problems with the first version of our Cookie Buttons. As a resilient, innovative start-up, we listened to our customers and took action.
Firstly, our previous pouch packaging had a number of problems. Although it was fully recyclable, the type of sustainable film used which included a barrier to protect the quality of our cookies meant that they were challenging at times to open, especially when on-the-go. Secondly, from a manufacturing perspective, as we began to produce larger volumes of our Cookie Buttons, we had problems scaling our first initial recipe (which we developed way back in 2019!). As we are passionate to only use the best ingredients to give a super flavoursome experience, we found that there were significant technical challenges using certain ingredients on a larger scale. For example, cocoa butter is not typically used in bakery products and therefore was solidifying quickly, resulting in lower output levels (costing our start-up lots of money on waste!)
WHAT CHALLENGES DID WE FACE?
As we got to work on improving our Cookie Buttons, we faced lots of challenges! Being a start-up isn’t always easy, but certainly allows you to be flexible, resilient and experiment with trial and error.
For our packaging, we took on feedback from various industry experts. Turns out, being a small pack size (30g) in a pouch, was causing problems from a distribution perspective, where retailers didn’t know where to put us on shelf. Even from an e-commerce stance, our pouches had excess air and therefore caused our carbon footprint to be higher when shipping boxes, as not as many packs could fit in 1 box. Combined with our customers feedback on the difficulties opening our pouches, we decided to move away from the material entirely and launch a new, exciting look for our products and lots of research was involved in choosing the right format for us!
Lauren (founder) set to work on improving our recipe issues. With the Cocoa Butter as the main fat ingredient used in our recipe, it was evident this was causing huge problems with the consistency of our cookie dough. Substituting to other fats simply wasn’t an option, as the cocoa butter is key to the more-ish taste of our biscuits, and you all LOVE the taste! It’s a super high quality ingredient that we feel, adds to the delicious taste of our biscuits and we’re one of the only companies in the bakery industry to use this.

Our Cookie Buttons are now back, better than ever!
New 100% recyclable packaging, with 70% less plastic! Our 30g Cookie Buttons are packed in card trays, kinder to the planet, surrounded with a recyclable wrapper. We can now fit more per box, all packed tightly, reducing our carbon footprint as we export worldwide!
The shape, look, and taste of our Cookie Buttons are all now highly improved, and feedback so far is that our customers think so too!

With the new recipe (we added in organic coconut oil to help with the consistency), our Cookie Buttons bake much more evenly, reducing our wastage levels too. This also has improved the shape and appearance – they literally are a perfect button shape! Some of the delicious high-quality ingredients including our recipe: Pure Grade A Canadian Maple Syrup; Natural Cocoa Butter; Organic Coconut Oil; Pure Gluten Free Scottish Oats; Coconut Sugar – always natural.
